Registration is now open for a My Brother’s Keeper summit scheduled to be held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center on October 7-8.
Government officials, community organizations, businesses and local residents are expected to discuss ways to promote racial equity and break down systemic barriers in Palm Beach County and across south Florida.
My Brother’s Keeper is an initiative started by President Barack Obama, who has directed government and community groups to focus on ways to improve outcomes for minority boys.
Those interested in registering for the summit should contact James Green 561-242-5702.
Instead, the giant show, squeezed out of the convention facility, will operate Jan. 12-15, 2017, at the downtown West Palm Beach “tent site,” the outfit said Wednesday morning in a press release. It said the show has a 3-year contract.
Art Miamihad wanted to come to the convention center in February 2016. The convention center had seemed open to that after reporting logistical problems Art Palm Beachhad with its 2013 and 2014 winter shows. Then the convention center decided to stick with Art Palm Beach and said it didn’t want back-to-back art shows. It instead offered Art Miami spots between April and September 2016, outside high season.
